A friend of ours recently invited us to the annual Fort Ord Horse Day. We decided to go check it out and see what it was all about. It took place at the Fort Ord Horse stables, just a couple miles from our house. When we first arrived, Caden was a little bit overstimulated, but after a few minutes of observing, he was ready to try some of the activities. Each child was given a cowboy hat when they arrived (my kids have not taken them off yet). They had pony rides, face painting, carriage rides, a bounce house and lots of horse demonstrations. Caden and Téa's favorite activity however was the petting zoo. We ended up going in twice because the kids loved the little critters running around at their ankles. I've even managed to convince Don to get goats someday. He fell in love with the baby pygmy goats and wanted to take one home with him. All in all the days was a huge success. The biggest success of the day however, was the fact that Caden handled everything so well. In the past we would have had to leave after 15 minutes because he would have been so overstimulated that he would have shut down. Thanks to his therapies, preschool, and his diet changes he was able to last almost 3 hrs. It looks like our hard work is paying off.

Téa got her face painted too. What a big girl.

Téa was a little bit scared of the chickens.
Caden loved the soft little bunnies.
Téa did too. In fact she kept giving them kisses.
I need a new blog name... :-)
