For the weekend of February 20-22 we spent the weekend at Shaver Lake. It was my sister in law Valarie's birthday and we went to celebrate with her and some friends. They rented this awesome cabin called "Rocky". We had so much fun spending time with everyone. The kids had never seen the snow before so this was a first for them. Caden didn't like walking in it but he definitely love eating it. I kept telling him "no yellow snow Caden". Both kids got a ride on the sled and liked it for the most part. I decided that we will try and make this an annual occurrence because it was such a nice get away. Unfortunately Don wasn't able to come because he was helping on a movie set. Hopefully next year though.

Caden, Caden, Caden where do I start. Well to start with he's doing fantastic. His speech is coming right along. Everyday he is improving and building his vocabulary. His walking is also coming along great. He is still recieving physical therapy 2x per week, and occupational therapy1x per week. We also recently started horse therapy, and he loves it! He is quite the little character and keeps Don and I constantly on our toes. His newest thing is "help Mommy". Whatever I'm doing he wants to help me with it. He especially enjoys opening and closing the fridge, putting clothes in the washer and dryer and sweeping. We have also assigned him some little jobs which he is very excited to complete. He helps carry his dishes to the sink after meals and is incharge of putting things in the recycling bin. He also has taken more of an interest in his sister now, (he doesn't have much of a choice since she follows him around the house and plays with his toys). He tries to help feed her and gives her her binky. They have recently started playing chase around the house. It's a slow game since Téa is the chaser but she follows Caden around and both of them giggle hysterically. They are quite the riot! Caden practicing his ABC's on the computer He loves the Sesame Street Website My goofball taking a bath Smiley Boy Hey good lookin' My big boy Caden and his best friend Caleb ("Cawub"to Caden) Best Buddies Caden "helping" feed Téa Messy Boy Caden's ugly face Téa is now a 10 month old bundle of energy. She is pulling to stand and cruising along furniture. In fact she was only crawling for 3 days when she pulled herself up for the first time. She is proving to be a very driven, motivated, and stubborn little girl who knows exactly what she wants. She is baby babbling a lot and I'm sure words are soon to come. Her and Caden have been playing together a lot more which has been very fun to watch. We're still trying to convince Caden that Téa is a good thing. Sharing has been the main issue in our house right now but hopefully perserverance will pay off. I can't believe that in about 2 months I will have a 3 1/2 yr old and a 1 yr old.

Due to our busy schedule one of our new years resolutions was to implement a Kaizen Family day at least once a month. Our first attempt took place at the Point Lobos State Park. This is a beautiful park located just 3 miles south of Carmel. We spent the entire day hiking around the coast. We packed a picnic and stopped and had a yummy lunch. It made us so appreciative to have the time to spend together and made us realize what a beautiful area we live in. We are going to find more of these hidden gems in the future.
