On September 20th our 24 week preemie turned 3. It's amazing how much he has accomplished in his first years of life. He has grown from a 1 lb 13 oz baby to a 32 lb healthy boy. He now knows all of his colors, counts to 10, and recites his entire alphabet. He also can recognize all of his letters visually. The biggest accomplishment for Caden though has been WALKING. That's right we finally have a bipedal boy. On September 30th he surprised everyone by standing up and walking across a 20 foot room. He was so proud of himself and since then there has been no turning back. He has taken quite a few spills but that doesn't prevent him from getting up and trying again. The stubbornness and hard hardheadedness that kept him alive in the beginning continues to show it's face over and over again. His walking isn't beautiful yet. We've dubbed him our "drunken sailor" because he's quite wobbly but he's on his feet and that's all that matters. Now he only needs more practice. We had a Cowboy themed birthday for him and he had a lot of fun and received lots of wonderful gifts.
