April 2010

The month of April has been a VERY busy month for us. We've had family and friends visit, 5 birthdays in the family, work on the house, Dr.'s appointments, a bridal shower not to mention the day-to-day life. Fortunately, we've still managed to find moments here and there to spend some time as a family. We've been lucky enough to have had some beautiful sunny days (a rare occasion in Marina) so we've been trying to spend lots of time outside.

Don's 34th Birthday

Daddy recently celebrated his 34th birthday. Unfortunately, his birthday happened to fall during the busiest week (Dr.'s appointments, Téa's birthday and our move). As a result we had a quiet celebration here at the house. I made him a small alien space craft cake and mini cupcakes. The cakes were for him to share with the people at work. Leila however had other plans for the cupcakes. I had to leave the house for half and hour to go pick up Caden from school. It was raining outside so I thought I'd be nice and leave the dogs in the house, after all I was only going to be gone for 30 minutes. Well, when I returned the first thing I see is a very guilty looking dog and the second thing I see is cupcake wrappers all over the kitchen floor. Leila had managed to get them off the counter and eat all but 2 of the cupcakes. I was too tired to kill her myself so I tried to sell her for dog meat but lucky for her there were no takers. Fortunately, I had already taken pictures and she had left the mini cake so we were still able to have a little celebration.

Caden's Swim Lessons

Caden's preschool class recently started swimming on Fridays and he absolutely loves it. If he had his way he'd get to swim everyday. I told Don we might need to look into getting a small pool at the new house because it's a great form of sensory and physical therapy. The first couple of times Téa had to sit and watch from the outside but recently they invited her to join in as well. Both of the kids LOVE the pool which makes mommy, an ex-swim teacher of many years, super proud.

Judd, Val and Aleah come to visit

Judd, Valarie and Aleah recently came to visit. Judd and Valarie were celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary so Aleah got to come and stay with the crazy Kaizens. We had a blast having her with us, plus it was good practice to see what having 3 kids would be like. We spent one day at the aquarium and the rest of the time running rampant around the house. Aleah is such a cutie and I can't wait until we get to see her on a weekly basis.
