Halloween

Halloween was a blast this year. As been our tradition over the last 3 yrs, the entire Kaizen family dressed up with a theme. The first year we went as the Wizard of Oz. Last year we were Japanese themed and this year our theme was mythical creatures. Don dressed up like a wizard, I was a garden fairy, Caden was a dragon and Téa was a sugar plum fairy. We took the kids trick or treating with some friends of ours and had a wonderful time. Caden was slightly cranky since he chose to not take his nap that day but managed to say trick or treat and Happy Halloween to the nice people who passed out candy. Téa was a silent observer and spent most of the time taking everything in. All in all I would say it was a success.

Around the house

Well I officially have a 3 year old and a 6 month old. It really is crazy how fast the days go by when you have kids. They are growing so fast each day I'm amazed that I am a mommy to 2 beautiful children. Here's a mix of pictures taken around the house. The kids are constantly doing silly, crazy, and cute things and I'm always struggling to catch them in the moment. Luckily I'm slightly obsessed with pictures (as if you haven't noticed) and I manage to get most of them. This is just a small window into our Crazy Kaizen Home. I swear I need to put a sign outside our front door that says "Welcome to our zoo".

Future Plumber? What do you think?

visit back home

The kids and I went back home for the weekend of October 25th for Bodie's 2nd birthday party. Daddy had to stay behind for school but we managed to survive without him. The kids had a lot of fun seeing everyone. I can't wait until we move back someday. Caden and Bodie are great buddies and I think we might have met my future son in law. Bodie was slightly obsessed with Téa and she just ate up the attention. The kids also got spoiled by Mamma and Papa for 4 days. Caden and Téa both took a liking to the piano. Mamma and Papa got a beautiful loud ceremony every night. We were sad to go but I'm sure the grandparents were happy to have their quiet home back.

Pumpkin Carving

Here are the results of our pumpkin adventure. Mommy carved 5 of the 6 pumpkins. There was a kitty pumpkin for Mandy Cat, a dog pumpkin for Leila, a spider pumpkin for Téa, a dragon pumpkin for Caden and a stick figure pumpkin for myself. Daddy carved himself a Dracula Pumpkin. Next year I will probably not take on such a task because by the 2nd pumpkin I was pretty much done. They turned out great though and we were very proud of them. For those of you cheaters out there who use patterns (aka Aunt Lindsey) remember these were all drawn by hand without any picture to go by. Lindsey, consider next years pumpkin carving contest on. Don and I have both decided that if our jobs don't work out we just might go into pumpkin carving.

Pumpkins

On Monday October 27th we took the family to the pumpkin patch. Caden had a blast. First of all it was a big open field and he had free run over the entire place, second he loved the pumpkins. He pointed to every single one and proceeded to tell Don and I that they were orange. He went pumpkin by pumpkin and pointed to it and said orange and then moved onto the next one. I tried to explain to him that they were pumpkins but he didn't seem to care. He was too interested in the color. Téa was just along for the ride. Daddy pushed her around in the wheelbarrow.
